What to expect

SUNDAY MORNINGS - 9:00 & 10:45am

The Bible is essential to everything we do at Westwood. In our Sunday services, we worship through song, prayer, and the preaching of God’s Word. Our pastors preach expositionally, meaning that we go through books of the Bible verse-by-verse to understand all of what the Bible teaches.

SUNDAY EVENINGS - 5:00pm (September - May)

Our Sunday evening services seek to carry out the charge of Colossians 2:7, that we would be rooted, built up, and established in faith. During this service we spend time in worship and diving into specific issues and how to approach them from a Christian worldview. Children’s ministry is not provided during this service, but the nursery is available for families to use if needed.

OUR LOCATION

We are located at 121 S Boehne Camp Road, just south of Perry Heights Middle School.

WHEN YOU ARRIVE

When you come in our main entrance, you’ll be met by our greeters who can answer your questions, help you check your children in, and point you to the sanctuary. Stop and grab a cup of coffee on your way into the service and if you need any help on Sunday mornings, a greeter would love to assist you.

CONNECT WITH US

Following the worship service on Sunday mornings, we’d love to meet you. Our pastors and leaders will be available to answer your questions and/or pray with you.

On Sunday mornings, we offer classes for children from birth through 5th grade during both morning worship services. In their classes, kids learn how all of the Bible points to Jesus through singing, teaching, and hands-on crafts to help them remember what they’ve learned.

Throughout the school year, our CORE Student Ministry (6th-12th grade) meets on Wednesday nights from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. for a combination of fun games, challenging teaching, real relationships, and purposeful discussions.

On Sunday mornings, students join their parents in the worship service.

STILL HAVE QUESTIONS?

How early should I arrive?

If you’re checking in kids, we recommend arriving at least fifteen minutes before the service. Seats can also fill up fast, so early arrivals are always recommended.

What should I wear?

Come as you are. You’ll find a wide range of dress at Westwood, from jeans and shorts to dresses and sport coats.

Do I need a Bible?

If you own a Bible, yes, bring it! If you don’t own a Bible, we have Bibles available and would love for you to take one of them as our gift to you. We also have many who enjoy using their smartphones or tablets to access digital Bibles.

How does children’s ministry work?

Children’s ministry is available during both morning worship services. When you enter the church, one of our greeters would be happy to guide you to the child check-in station. Our infants, toddlers, and preschoolers go directly to their classes for the entirety of the worship service. Our kindergarten through 5th graders join us in the worship service, and are dismissed to their class before the sermon.

Can my children join me in the worship service?

Absolutely. While our children’s ministry classes are available, we also know that some families want to worship together. Your children are welcome to join you in the service. We also have a room available for nursing mothers, and an overflow room for those mornings when your children need a little more room to move around.

What songs do you sing?

We sing a mix of old and new hymns and songs, all with a commitment to biblical faithfulness, theological richness, and congregational participation. Some of our favorite artists include Sovereign Grace Music, Keith & Kristyn Getty, Matt Boswell, Shane & Shane, and CityAlight. To listen to the songs we have planned for this Sunday, please see the playlist below.
